Ederwirt Bridge Carinthia

Lifting of 2 x 25 to Arch Bridge according to the Cruciani-System

The Bogen Bridge is not only aesthetically attractive but in many ways, also one of the most economical bridge construction method. During construction of the concrete arch, especially in complex terrain conditions, it is important to erect a self-supporting scaffolding system for the concrete arch. The Cruciani frame is one of the most economical methods. It consists of steel and wood components and conventional scaffolding boards which are assembled into curved framework trusses directly on the construction site. In Austria alone, over 50 bridge arches with a span of up to 200 m have been completed using this technique. In the case of the Ederwirt Bridge, both arch halves were assembled, rather unconventionally, in the horizontal position, and Gleitbau Salzburg subsequently, hoisted them together.
